Pommes als Weltaneignung
Die primäre Form der Weltaneignung ist die Aufnahme von Nahrung durch den Mund. Der Mund ist ein Weltorgan, das Aneignung nach dem Prinzip der eingestülpten Oberfläche ermöglicht. (…) Der Organismus nimmt Umwelt in sich auf. In der Unterscheidung zwischen angeeigneter Umwelt und aneignendem Organismus bilden sich früheste Beziehungsformen von weltverschlingendem Subjekt und Welt aus.“ (Bazon Brock)

Im Sommer 2024 verwandelte das Insitute of Applied Pommology and Sausage Science den Imbissstand am Erlaufsee zum Hotspot für weltverschlingende Subjekte und andere Gäste. Hinter der Budel versorgte Barbara Ungepflegt von Mitte Juli bis Mitte August 2024 ihre Gäste mit Pommes frites und kleinen Erfrischungen. Und selbstredend mit performativen Interventionen. Direkt am Wasser und unter hohen Nadelbäumen, an einem idyllischen Ort, der reich an Beobachtungen und Begegnungen ist. In ihrer Rolle als „Dame vom Grill“ machte Ungepflegt den Imbisswaggon zum schillernden Spiel- und Austragungsort: neben Pommes und Snacks wurden auf der steirischen Seite des Erlaufsees Performances, Workshops, Filmabende und Konzerte angeboten. Der Imbissstand als Festival(zentrum): für Badegäste und Hitzeopfer aller Länder.

French fries as world appropriation

In summer 2024, the Institute of Applied Pommology and Sausage Sience is transforming the takeaway on Lake Erlaufsee into a hotspot for globetrotting subjects and other guests. Behind the kiosk, Barbara Ungepflegt will be serving her guests chips and light refreshments from mid-July to mid-August 2024. And of course with performative interventions. Next to the waterside and under high pine trees, in an idyllic location full of observations and encounters. In her role as "lady of the grill", Ungepflegt turns the food truck into a dazzling venue: in addition to chips and snacks, performances, workshops, movie screenings and concerts are offered on the Styrian side of Lake Erlauf. The takeaway booth becomes a festival (centre): for swimmers and heat victims from all over the world.

Making a sacrifice to the sausage
Some people believe in the so-called "sacrificial sausage" when preparing ( in some cases vegan) sausages. In order to prevent the sausages from leaching out and losing their flavour while cooking in water, a particular one of the sausages is sacrificed. In a metaphorical sense, this means that art is sacrificed to the food truck and its visitors. Every day, Ungepflegt sacrifices herself in the snack bar for the guests, and on long weekends she is supported by artists and authors, always with an eye on transubstantiation (transformation of essence). Among others with: Peter Ahorner, Botschafterinnen der Panier, DJ Herbert, Susanne Fernades-Silva, Genia Enzelberger, Julia Fuchs, Andreas Geis, Andrea Habith, Hanna Hollmann, Natalia del Mar Kasik, Ernst Kerschbaumer, MASS Control Superviolence, MICRO MATA, Gregor Strahammer, Arthur Summereder and others.During summer 2024, the food kiosk at Erlaufsee (AUT) will be transformed into a hotspot for globetrotting foodies and other guests. Barbara Ungepflegt will be serving her guests chips, sausages, ice cream and drinks from mid-July to mid-August 2024 and, of course, with performative interventions. Located directly by the water and under tall trees, at an idyllic spot full of encounters, observations and interactions. In her role as ""Lady of the Barbecue"", Ungepflegt transforms the take-away kiosk into a dazzling venue: in addition to refreshments and snacks, performances, workshops and concerts are offered on the Styrian side of the lake. The refreshment bar turns into a festival centre: for swimmers as well as heat victims from all over the world.
